AMEC AWARDS 2008 (05/03/2008)
Details of the AMEC Communication Effectiveness Awards 2008 programme which this year includes three new categories to encourage entries from public relations agencies and in-house communications departments have now been announced.

AMEC Conference will address challenges of Integrated Marketing Communications (10/12/2007)
AMEC is to hold a half-day conference on Integrated Marketing Communications in London on Wednesday 5th March 2008. The conference will address the challenges of integrated marketing communications and how to measure return on investment. The conference will provide a perspective on integrated marketing from acknowledged experts in brand strategy and management, brand valuation and public relations, as well as direct insight from leading clients. Confirmed speakers include: Jan Lindemann, Managing Director of Brand Valuation at Interbrand; Christian Dorffer, Executive Vice President at Millward Brown Optimor; Ken Kelling, Communications Director at VisitLondon; and Kelly Walsh – Managing Director at MS&L Consumer Marketing.

Echo Research Scoop Double Grand Prix Honours at the 2007 AMEC Awards (20/11/2007)
Echo Research won the prestigious Platinum Award as well as the Innovation Award for their work for McDonald’s at the 2007 AMEC Communication Effectiveness Awards held at The Cumberland, London on Monday November 19th. The judges described the analysis provided by Echo Research as a very good piece of integrated research that provided a real breakthrough for McDonald’s in terms of making a major change to its communications. The other Grand Prix Award winner was GlobalNews Group of Argentina who took home the International Members’ Award for the work they did for Merck, Sharp and Dohme across 12 offices in Latin America. The Young Professional of the Year Award, which was introduced for the first time this year, was won by Anna Hulda Sigurðardottir of Fjölmiðlavaktin in Iceland. Fjölmiðlavaktin also took home a commendation in the newly-introduced Development Award along with Anne Curtis of Media Measurement.

Leggetter Joins AMEC as Part of Growth Plan (29/10/2007)
The Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) has appointed former PR consultancy head Barry Leggetter to be its first Executive Director. Leggetter is a former Managing Director of Golin/Harris UK, Fleishman-Hillard UK and Joint Managing Director of Countrywide Porter-Novelli. He remains as non executive Chairman of Bite Communications.

AMEC Announces Communication Effectiveness Awards Shortlist (24/09/2007)
AMEC, the Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication, today announced the shortlist of the 2007 AMEC Communication Effectiveness Awards. The Awards, which are now in their sixth year, reflect and seek to promote excellence in the media evaluation industry. The entries were scrutinised by a panel of judges chaired by Doctor Tom Watson, Reader in Communications at Bournemouth University Shortlisted companies are: Echo Research, Cision, Fjölmiõlavaktin, Global News Group, MediaMarket, Media Measurement, Media Monitors, Media Report, Mediatrack, Metrica and Millward Brown Precis.

AMEC Announces New Programme for 2007 AMEC Awards (02/04/2007)
AMEC today announced the programme for its AMEC Communication Effectiveness Awards 2007 as well as its media partnership with CorpComms Magazine. This year AMEC has introduced a broad spectrum of new awards, including: The New Media Measurement Award, Young Professional of the Year Award, Best Use of Measurement for a Single Event, The Development Award and The Associate Member Award.

AMEC International Research on Media Coverage of Top Ten Brands in 2006 (20/03/2007)
Microsoft, Toyota, IBM, Intel, Coca Cola, Nokia, Walt Disney, McDonald’s, General Electric, and Marlboro/Philip Morris were the global brands that received the most media coverage in the United Kingdom, Italy, Slovakia, Ireland and Spain in 2006. They were the subject of over 8,800 articles; 5,200 were positive while more than 700 criticised these global players. Ireland registered the most media coverage. Marketing appears to have attracted the most attention in the international press.

AMEC AWARDS - WINNERS ANNOUNCED (21/11/2006)
Millward Brown Precis won the prestigious Platinum Award for their Toyota Australia entry at the 2006 AMEC Communication Effectiveness Awards held at The Cumberland, London on Monday 20 November. ‘This is how it should be done’ said Professor Anne Gregory, Chairman of the Judges. Millward Brown Precis also took home one gold for Toyota Australia in the Business-to-Consumer category. The International Members’ Award, which was introduced for the first time this year, was won by MediaMarket of Ireland for their client 3 Ireland.

Amec international research results on media coverage of top 10 brands in third quarter of 2006 (08/11/2006)
Once again, Microsoft claims pole position in the ranking of brands with the most international media coverage in the third quarter. It is followed by Toyota, Coca Cola, IBM, Intel, Walt Disney, Nokia, McDonald’s, General Electric, and Philip Morris. The brands were the subject of over 1,800 features, of which 69.7% were positive and 12.9% negative. The most “coverage” was garnered in Ireland, Slovakia, the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany. Marketing was the topic most covered by the international press.

AMEC takes a new direction (21/09/2006)
