COI launch new measurement metrics
AMEC and its members took part in a consultation exercise last year with the Central Office of Information who planned to introduce mandatory core stands of programme measurement in all its PR programmes. AMEC helped begin the dialogue early in 2009 together with the PRCA and other organisations were later consulted.

The Financial Times follows the NLA and plans changes for digital licences
The Financial Times announced on 29th January, 2010 plans to extend its direct licence to include digital images of FT newspaper articles, which are currently licensed by the Newspaper Licensing Agency (NLA). The change to their new direct licensing is model is scheduled for 1st July, 2010 Full Story
Barcelona Summit – book the dates in your diary!
WATCH OUT for an email announcing that our Summit registration website has been launched. This is planned for mid February and will allow you to book online for the Summit with special discounts for AMEC members and IPR Supporters and for members of ICCO and FIBEP.
The website will also give details of special rates negotiated at the Hotel Meliá Barcelona, Barcelona, where our conference will take place. The Summit is presented by AMEC and the Institute for Public Relations. The Spanish Marketing Association, DIRCOM, is Official Conference Partner and the Acceso Group is the National Partner. The Global Alliance and ICCO are Official Supporters of the Summit.

AMEC's new US Group takes off
Leading professionals have joined AMEC's first International Chapter, the US Agency Leaders Research Group. The Group held a planning meeting in New York in January and is now planning activity for the year.
Already members of the group include: Ketchum, Edelman/StrategyOne, Hill & Knowlton, Weber Shandwick, Evolve24, Dow Jones, Cision, Echo Research, VMS and BurrellsLuce. Others who attended the inaugural meeting on January 21 hosted by Dow Jones, were: Chandler Chicco, MS&L, Ogilvy PR and Visible Technologies
